Today I wish you all the happiness the world has to offer. I wish you success and wisdom with everything you do. I wish you strength and tolerance to overcome every obstacle and fear. But most of all, I wish you love; may your heart forever be filled by it and may you always project that same love out into the world.
This past year you have grown so much as a young lady, sometimes working your magic on keeping me in line. Most days I wonder how I got so blessed to become your mother. You have been my strength this past year, helping me get through the many obstacles and fears that overcame my mind and heart.
The older you get the more I realize that I have a best friend growing before my eyes. You are the love of my life. You and I both know I never liked children, I still don’t today. But you, my darling, have taught me that there are little angels like you that fortunate mothers like me get blessed with which make loving children so important and necessary. You have taught me to love, to be patient and to accept what life gives me.
Your cleverness and intelligence makes me question my own intelligence. Your maturity makes me wonder which one of us is the mother and which one of us is the child. Your sassiness and wittiness has shown me a side of myself that I don’t know yet if I should celebrate or fear. But most of all, the love and affection you portray to me and the rest of the world has taught me to be a better person.
You are the blessing every mother asks for when praying for a child. Someone up there must really love me because I was blessed to have you come into my life.
I love you baby girl and wish you nothing but the best life has to offer. Happy 7th Birthday, Nid! Xoxo
Thought I’d share some of the highlights of baby girl’s birthday with all of you.
She got surprised at school with balloons, cupcakes, toys and tons of treats to share with her classmates the day before.
On her actual birthday, she got to dress up like a cosmic-butterfly and also had a trip to a pumpkin patch.
In the evening, myself and her dad, grandma, an aunt, my brother and sister-in-law surprised her with a cake and gifts. And of course, her maasi (my sister) sent a special gift for her since she wasn’t able to make it.
And of course, we went trick or treating around the block.
I want to thank all of our family and friends for all the love and blessings they showered on my little darling through all social media channels. I read each one of your messages to her and she was so amazed at how many people took the time to wish her. She is a blessed child and we are grateful parents to have all of you around the world joining us with celebrating our little girl.
Mommy and daddy wish you so much love, happiness and success today and always. You are the brightest light in our lives and we count our blessings each and every day we get to see your beautiful face.
You’ve made us proud with all your achievements over the past year and we glow with happiness every time you overcome another obstacle. You’ve had some rough patches throughout the year; which is absolutely okay because that’s how you’ll learn what is right or wrong. But know that mommy and daddy will forever be here standing beside you when you need the support, standing ahead of you when you need the guidance and protection and standing behind you when you need a push to move forward.
Happy Birthday, my darling, Nid. We love you so very much and will always love you, even on the days you don’t love yourself or when it doesn’t show; don’t you ever forget that, my love!
Happy Birthday, doll! May God bless you with all life’s joys and happiness. May you forever be loved and blessed. May you grow to become a beautiful person, inside and out. May you always know how much your mommy and daddy love you. God bless you, my darling.
The past five years have gone by far to fast. Your daddy and I are amazed at how quickly you’re growing up and how independent you’re becoming. From the day we brought you home, you were the blessing in our home and lives and with every day that passes, we are reminded by the blessing you are.
This year, you’ve become more independent than ever. You’re helping me in the kitchen with cooking and baking cakes (with the hope of licking the frosting off the spoons). You’ve helped me hang laundry and fold your own clothes. You’ve even encouraged me to read more, as your interest to visit the library has sparked an interest in me and so our weekly library visits have turned into a special time for both of us.
You started French immersion school this year and have taken on the new language with such interest and pride. Your favourite song, bonjour les amie, is amazing to listen to, even though you sing it over and over again. You love counting in French and we’ve made a game out of it. It’s fantastic how quickly you’re picking it all up. We are so proud of you and your accomplishments.
Congratulations, my doll for achieving so much this past year. God bless you always. Mommy and daddy love you dearly! Happy 5th Birthday!
Nid started junior kindergarten a month ago and now her 4th birthday is coming up. I can’t believe how quickly time is flying by. She’s growing up so quickly and my mother instincts want to hang on to her and stop her from soaring away. But I know it’s good for her and me that she grow, become independent and soar towards her independence. It’s just so hard letting go.She’s going to be 4 years old today and I just cannot believe where the past four years have gone by. It’s amazing how much Dev and I have learned because of and from this little person. We’ve learned tolerance, patience, to love without expectation and unconditionally. We’ve learned how a soft giggle and silent smile can bring overwhelming joy to our hearts. We’ve learned to multitask and go with the flow. We’ve learned that you could “deep clean” your home, spending multiple hours doing so and it could look like a tornado hit it 10 minutes later. She’s taught us this growing a year older is a blessing because the year ahead will be a whole new set of adventures and experiences to mark in my memoirs. And now when her fourth birthday is upon us, I just want to thank the Gods above for bringing this little being into my life at the most unexpected time ever. She is the blessing I needed and I am so grateful for her. She is the purpose of my smiles and the person who gives me that warm, tingling feeling in my heart. Happy 4th Birthday Nid! Mommy and Daddy love you dearly!
Although both Nid and I were sick with a cold, we celebrated her third birthday this past weekend. She was so excited that her friends were coming over to play with her, that I didn’t have the heart to cancel her party. It was a fun-filled day and she was so happy; which was worth all the effort and energy D and I put into making her party happen.
She’s grown up so much, it amazes me every time I think about it. She was such a good girl, shared her toys and goodies with her friends and there were no breakdowns or tantrums. We played a couple of games; hot balloon and toss the ball in the bucket and all the kids ate and enjoyed themselves, as did their parents. Overall, I think my first toddler birthday party was a big success!
I can’t believe you’re three years old! Time has flown by so quickly. I remember the day you were born, you were so tiny and fragile and now, you are such a big girl. You’re riding a bike now, you can open the fridge and freezer doors. You know how to tidy up your room on your own and put on your clothes. You can grab a snack on your own and share one with mommy and daddy too.
You’ve become so independent and as much as daddy and I would like to think so, you’re not our little baby anymore. You’re our big girl now and we are so happy to see what a beautiful girl you are becoming.
You started pre-school earlier this year, it was hard at first, but you’ve gotten used to it now and love it. You also have a new babysitter, Kiesha and she’s grown so close to you, as you have to her.
As you start another year and grow bigger, smarter, more beautiful, mommy and daddy want you to know that we love you so much, more than anything in the world. Your smiles help soothe all of our pains and miseries and take away all of our stress. No matter how big you get or how old you are, you will always be our darling baby girl and we’ll love just as much tomorrow as we do today.
Three Years Old!
Happy Birthday, sweetheart. Hugs and kisses for another beautiful year ahead. Xoxo
