Miracles – A Mother’s Love

No matter what has happened in my life. No matter what challenge or struggle I may be going through. No matter how hard life has beaten me down. There has, is and always will be one person that stands firm beside me to raise me back up.

She’s been my strength when I couldn’t get up on my own. She’s been my guide when I was lost. She’s been my inspiration when I was scared. She’s been my wisdom when I was confused. She’s even been my banker when I was broke.

She’s my mother.

We take for granted the love our mothers give us and feel for us. But their love is nothing less than a miracle in disguise. My mother is a my miracle. She’s the blessing that has stood by my side since before I could even understand the importance of her love and strength.

Even now, she continues to hold my hand through my difficult times and struggles.

So, I’m honouring her today, as I do everyday. But I called her today to say thank you for everything she is and does for me.

Have you said thank you to your mom recently? Maybe it’s time to give her a call and let her know how special she is to you. You’ll be surprised how emotional and happy she will be.

Quick Update: Week 1 Complete

I’ve just finished my first week of school and am happy to say that I have enjoyed it. It’s a cramped course; which will be completed in eight months, so there’s a lot of information to process. However, I think I’ve done good so far.

I’m taking lots of notes and writing every detail down which may be useful. In addition, I plan to review my notes and highlight my textbook with important points this weekend.

This past week has given me the opportunity to understand how hard PSW’s and nurses work. It’s also shown me how much support some people will need as they age; making me reflect on my own aging parents and loved ones. I’m glad I decided to take this course. It will enable me to treat and care for my aging parents in a manner that will make their upcoming old-age slightly more comfortable.

This morning as I was getting ready to leave for school, I couldn’t help but wonder if my parents would come stay with me when they’re old and unable to fend for themselves. I would be the perfect caregiver for them because by the time they will be that old, I would be well-trained and hopefully working in my profession for a few years. I can only hope that they would give me the honour to repay them for the years of love, care and compassion they’ve given me all these years and allow me to care for them in their time of need. Time shall tell.

Anyway, that was my first week in review. I’ll keep you guys and gals posted on how I progress over the next several weeks. Until then, my lovelies, enjoy your weekend and stay safe and blessed.

Xoxo ~ Tamana

Happy Monday

Nid and I
Nid and I

Happy Monday, lovelies! How was your weekend? Do anything exciting or did you just stay home and relax?

My weekend was busy. My parents were over on Saturday and I was out and about with my mom to get her last-minute shopping for her trip to India done. It’s always fun shopping with my mom, except she normally tells me we’ll be visiting one or two stores and end up running around the city stopping at every store she remembers she “may” need something from. It gets a little hectic but it’s mostly fun. Plus, she’s going to India with my father and I don’t know when they’ll be back. They normally end up staying there for about six months at a time, so it was nice to spend some time with her before they leave.

Sunday was spend shopping for Nid’s birthday party and making sure I have all the ingredients and supplies ready. Dev is sick, so he stayed home with Nid; while my neighbour escorted me to Costco and Walmart; it was exhausting! I don’t know what possessed me to shop at Costco and Walmart on a Sunday morning, but I did. By the time we got everything home, I was worn out and ready for a nap.

So, that was my weekend. Although, it was hectic, I feel like I got a lot accomplished; which is a great thing for me these days, since I’m always feeling lazy and worn out.

I hope you’ve had an awesome weekend and are ready to take on the week. I can’t wait until Friday to get everything ready for Nid’s third birthday party. I’m so pumped up and hope it goes smoothly, as this is the first year I’m having kids come over to celebrate. I just hope everyone shows up. Stay tuned for some party and food ideas I’m putting together for the party.

Have a great week!

What An Amazing Weekend

I rarely count my blessings, but today I surely am. I hadn’t slept properly all week and was feeling the lack of sleep’s toll on my mind and body. I asked my parents to pick up Ni for the weekend so I could relax and get some rest; which my mother was ever so kind in doing. D was at work on Saturday and so I had the complete day to myself and Sunday we woke up late and spent the rest of the day with my parents.

It was a much-needed break on my part. But I did miss my Ni throughout the weekend, especially at times when I’d be sitting and doing nothing; the house was so quiet. But she enjoyed her time with her grandparents and I too enjoyed my time alone. I went shopping on Friday evening and then again on Saturday. Walked the mall peacefully without worrying about Ni getting agitated or hungry and tired. I even sat in the food court with a friend and at lunch (very rare event for me).

Saturday evening I spent over at my neighbor V’s house. She tried one so many dresses and outfits in preparation for her upcoming vacation. We sorted through her jewelry and she was ever so kind in giving me a pair of gold earrings with my birthstones on it. Later Saturday night, D and I went out for dinner and a long drive. It was really nice spending some alone time with him.

Sunday was well spent too. After lunch with our parents, my mother and I went shopping. She bought me a Pandora bracelet with charms. She knew I had wanted one for the longest time and so she took me to Pandora and let me pick and choose whatever I wanted. We even picked one up for my sister. My mom’s the best. I don’t say enough but she truly is the best and I’d be lost without her.

All in all, it was an amazing weekend. How was your weekend?

My Dad Is A Liar

This is an absolutely beautiful commercial. Had me in tears, so I had to share! Parents do so much for us and sacrifice so much for us. It’s nice to see videos like this during our busy work lives, that remind us of how valuable our parents are. Go hug your parents and tell them how much you love them after watching this video. If your parents are with God now, then say a prayer for them and still tell them how much you love them and miss them.

Busy Life and Days

It’s been such a busy few days/weeks. My parents are leaving next week to go to India for a few months, Ni’s first birthdays is coming up, D, me and Ni are going on a small vacation at the beginning of the month and I’m going back to work next month. So, I’ve been quite busy with getting everything done and ready. My mom has kept me quite busy with errands, everyday is a new task I must complete for her.

D and I still haven’t finished preparation for Ni’s birthday yet. We still have to order the catering and find a decently priced baker to make her cake. It seems that either all the bakers are pre-booked or overly expensive. I mean, seriously? $150 for a birthday cake for an infant? Come on! That’s ridiculous. So, my search continues. Oh, did I mention, we’re doing a peacock theme? OMG! We got her the cutest little outfit. I’ll post pictures of her in it as soon as I pick it up from the post office.

Besides that, D and I have decided to take a mini vacation to Quebec City before I go back to work. So, we’re heading there on the 1st of November and will probably return on the 3rd or 4th. He’s never been there and so he’s super excited to go. Plus, I’d love to get away for a few days before heading back to work. God only knows when I’ll be able to take a vacation anytime soon once back there.

Oh, I’ve also arranged Ni’s daycare and had our subsidy interview last week. Hopefully, Ni will start on October 28th. It’s so nerve wrenching thinking about her being in the care of complete strangers all day long. Unfortunately, though I just cannot stay at home with her because our financial situation just wouldn’t allow it.

Anyway, if all of that wasn’t enough to keep be on my toes, then I still need to purchase some new clothes to wear at work. I’ve gained weight after my pregnancy and with the whole Mirena thing. So, I’ve barely got anything that fits and is suitable to wear at work. I’m really hoping to purchase a few key items now and then slowly build my wardrobe over the next couple of months. But plus size clothing is sooooooo expensive . 😦 I’m really hoping I can find some deals and sales.

Anyway, loves, I’m off for now. I promise to try and post again soon. I’ll also put up lots of photos of Ni’s party and outfit once we have it. Xoxo lots of love and blessings.

Tomorrow Is D’s Birthday!

Tomorrow is the love of my life’s birthday! I’m super excited and cannot wait until midnight and until he gets home tonight. Tonight we’re celebrating it at my parent’s house. My mom’s cooking dinner and I’m going to pick up a cake. After dinner, when midnight strikes we’re going to surprise him with his cake.

After we come home, I’m going to give him all his presents. I’ve already decorated the living-room and set his presents on our coffee table. Take a look at the pictures below for what I did. I didn’t splurge this time because funds are a bit tight right now. But I managed to get him clothes at an awesome sale price from Aeropostal. He loves Cars the movie, so I got him a few Cars brand gifts. And of course, how could I forget his sweet tooth. So, to help ease his chocolate cravings, I got him Hersey’s Kisses.

Tomorrow, he’s going to enjoy breakfast in bed and later we’re heading to Grazie for lunch. In the evening, a couple of his friends and I are going to pick him up and we’re going for dinner and drinks. Then Thursday he’ll get to enjoy a nice massage and home cooked lunch with all his favorite dishes. Plus, I’m baking a chocolate cake and sugar cookies for him to snack on over the next couple of days.

I really hope he enjoys my plans for his birthday. If we weren’t on a budget, I’d probably take him for another flying lesson. Ever since I surprised him with the first ones, he’s been hinting that he wants to go again. Hopefully, we’ll be able to do that for our anniversary later this year.

But for now, I really hope he enjoys his day. He’s my best-friend and the love of my life and I just want him to know that and make him feel extra special tomorrow.

Well, I have more planning and preparations to do, so I’ve got to stop writing. I’ll try posting more pics of his day tomorrow and give you all the details. Until then, xoxox and god bless.
